Nintendo is raising the price of the Switch 2 in South Korea by around 15 percent.
From September 1, 2026, the suggested retail price of the console will increase to 758,000 won ($491) from 648,000 won ($420) in the region.
In a brief note to investors (via Google Translate), Nintendo said it has reviewed the price of hardware in South Korea in response to "changes in various market conditions."
"We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to our customers and stakeholders due to this price change. We ask for your understanding," added the company.
Earlier this year, Nintendo confirmed it would be raising the price of the Switch 2 to in key markets such as Japan, Europe, Canada, and the United States. Those price hikes came into effect in Japan on May 25, and will be rolled out in other regions on September 1.
The decision was made a few months after Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa warned that an ongoing memory crisis driven by rampant investment in AI data centres might "put pressure on profitability."

In May, Furukawa confirmed Nintendo was rethinking hardware pricing in direct response to the war on Iran (which caused oil prices to surge) and the aforementioned component shortage. Notably, he acknowledged the move would price some consumers out of its hardware ecosystem.
"Unfortunately, the recent surge in memory and other component prices, and the changes in the market environment, including trends in the foreign exchange market and the price of oil, are all factors that we anticipate will continue over the medium to long term," he told investors in May.
"As a result, we felt that the profitability of our hardware would suffer significantly if we maintained our existing pricing, potentially impacting our business operations over this time frame. For the sustained growth of our dedicated video game platform business, it is important to maintain a healthy earnings structure for our overall business."
The Switch 2 sold almost 20 million units worldwide during the previous fiscal year to surpass Nintendo's initial estimates.
