Supermassive Games CEO Robert Henrysson is stepping down after less than three years at the helm.
The UK studio is best known for working on narrative-driven horror titles such as Until Dawn, The Quarry, and The Dark Pictures Anthology.
In 2022, Supermassive Games was fully acquired by investment company, Nordisk Games—which operates as a subsidiary of Nordic media conglomerate Egmont Group.
As noted on LinkedIn, Henrysson joined Nordisk Games as a partner in August 2022 before taking on the role of Supermassive chief exec in January 2024.
His exit comes around six weeks after the launch of Supermassive's latest project Directive 8020. The sci-fi title touched down on May 26, 2026, after a delay that coincided with layoffs at the studio.
In a LinkedIn post announcing his departure, Henrysson also confirmed he will be ending his tenure at Nordisk Games.
"As the CEO of Supermassive Games, I was honoured to guide the studio through intense industry change, broadening its client base and establishing a culture of consistent quality across all aspects of the game development process," he wrote.

"Leading a studio is never a one-man job—it is the entire team's effort. Our commitment to continuous improvement was, and continues to be, central to everything we do. To everyone at Supermassive Games, I am so grateful for everything I’ve learnt and experienced with all of you."
