Celebrating One Year of our Ads Solutions

One year ago, we dropped our first-ever advertising product: Discord Quests! Quests let advertisers connect authentically with engaged players and Discord users earn rewards for engaging with content and games – now that’s a win-win.
We unleashed two types of Quests built for the future of brand engagement across gaming, media and entertainment:
- Video Quests: Drive awareness with captivating video content, cinematic trailers, and more, boasting an average 80%+ VCR. This isn't just watching– it's experiencing.
- Play Quests: Ignite gameplay and build connections by rewarding users for playing or streaming games. It's about creating fans, not just impressions.
Since then, over 70 Quests have launched, showering users with millions of rewards and boosting their engagement.
But wait, there's more: Announcing Mobile Video Quests! Our rewarded Video Quests ad is breaking free from desktop and going mobile with a pilot launching in June 2025. This marks our first mobile ad offering, broadening reach while staying true to player-first, reward-focused experiences. Learn more about Mobile Quests here.
ICYMI: Discord @ GDC

In case you missed it, we showed up big at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco last month. We went all-in with on the ground event activations and virtually with a HackWeek in our Discord Developers server. But the real mic drop moment?
Introducing Discord Social SDK: Game developers can now integrate Discord-powered social features directly into their games—including friend lists, invites, messaging, and voice chat—at no cost, even for players without Discord accounts.
SDK helps developers increase discoverability by reaching Discord's engaged communities while encouraging longer gaming sessions. Early partners like Theorycraft Games, Facepunch Studios, and Scopely are already seeing success.
The Social SDK is now available for all developers. Learn more here.
Celebrating 10 Years of Discord & Introducing our new CEO

Discord is turning 10! With 200+ million monthly active users spending 1.5+ billion hours playing games monthly, we're proud to be the platform where meaningful gaming connections happen.
As we enter our next phase, co-founder Jason Citron has appointed Humam Sakhnini as our new CEO. Sakhnini brings 15+ years of gaming experience, previously serving as Vice Chairman at Activision Blizzard where he managed major titles like Call of Duty and World of Warcraft. Before that, as President of King Digital Entertainment, he led the company to record performance post-acquisition by Activision Blizzard.
This leadership transition will accelerate Discord's momentum in the years ahead. Read more about the announcement here.
That’s all for now!
While you patiently wait for the next volume of Discord for Business to drop, have a look at some of our success stories with popular franchises like WoW or dive deep into our Quests solutions.
